The bluegill population is still rebounding from the total winter kill in 2014. The population will continue to grow and produce larger fish as it ages. Site Regulation: 5 fish daily limit.

LARGEMOUTH BASS

Very Good

The largemouth bass population has done well since a total winter kill in 2014. This was the first year that largemouth bass spawned since the winter kill and the restocking of largemouth bass in 2014. Bass fishing will be good in the future with trophy possibilities. Site Regulation: 1 fish daily limit; 14" minimum length limit.

Location: Hanover Bluff Lake is located in Jo Daviess County within the Hanover Bluff State Fish and Wildlife Area. Hanover Bluff State Fish and Wildlife Area is immediately north of the Apple River Bridge on Rt. 84 and West Blanding Road. Take this road 1.5 miles south of intersection of Blanding and Hanover Hills roads, turn left on Hanover Hill to parking area.

Description: Hanover Bluff Lake is a 15.5 surface acre impoundment with a maximum depth of 23 feet and an average depth of 8.2 feet.

Additional Lake Information: Two pole and line fishing only.

Bluegill or Redear Sunfish: 5 fish daily limit
Channel Catfish: 6 fish daily limit
