Average | The 2017 survey shows very high bluegill numbers. The size distribution and condition of the bluegill collected was poor.
Very Good | This species is solid in this lake. Good numbers and size quality were present in the 2017 survey. Site regulation: 6 fish daily creel limit.
Good | This trophy species is stocked into Lake Glen Shoals by IDNR at 2” in length. During our surveys, we don’t normally see this pelagic predator. One hybrid striped bass was collected in the 2017 survey. It was about 13 inches and likely a fairly recently stocked fish. Site regulation: 17” minimum length limit; 3 fish daily creel limit.
Fair | The largemouth bass numbers are up from the previous survey and are higher than the five previous surveys. The bass collected in the 2017 survey show a good size distribution. The condition of the fish collected was good. Site regulation starting April 1, 2016: 15” minimum length limit; 3 fish daily creel limit.
Good | White crappie were collected in low numbers in the 2017 survey. The white crappie collected were of good size, with most over 10 inches. There is likely very good population of white crappie present in the lake. However, due to the time of year this survey is completed and the gear used it is not likely a representative sample of the true crappie populations.
