Location: Villa Grove West Pond is located on the south side of Villa Grove in Douglas County.

Description: This pond is 5.4 acres with a maximum depth of 10 feet. Bank fishing is possible around the entire shoreline.

History and Status of the Sport Fishery: A wide variety of species of fish are present. Bluegill, redear sunfish, green sunfish, and longear sunfish are numerous. Largemouth bass, white crappie, black crappie, channel catfish, yellow bass, and common carp are present in modest numbers. This pond is stocked each fall spring with harvestable sized rainbow trout which are easily caught for at least a couple of weeks after the season opener on the third Saturday in October. Channel catfish are stocked annually.
