Pinckneyville City Lake has a poor crappie population consisting of both black and white crappie. Of the crappie collected in the 2015 fall electrofishing survey, only one was over nine-inches in length. Anglers are encouraged to harvest all crappie caught regardless of size to help thin out the population and increase the average size.

Largemouth bass fishing in Pinckneyville City Lake should be excellent in 2016. Of the bass collected during the 2015 fall survey, 32% were over 15 inches and 10% were over 18 inches. Site Regulation: 1 fish daily creel limit, 18" minimum length.

The redear population shows a more promise with fish over 7 inches present.

Location: Pinckneyville City Lake is located in Perry County about 3 miles northwest of Pinckneyville off Route 127 North. Turn west onto Lake Road.

Description: Facilities at this 165-acre lake include a concrete boat launch, floating dock, and bathrooms.

Additional Lake Information: There is a 10 HP motor limit on this lake.
