BLUEGILL

Poor

The bluegill population is stunted and poor. Of the 20 bluegill collected in the 2016 spring survey, only one was over 7 inches and none were over 8 inches.

CHANNEL CATFISH

Average

The channel catfish population is average. Two catfish (22-25 inches) were collected in 2016. Channel catfish have been collected during 7 of the last 8 surveys.

CRAPPIE

Fair

The crappie population is stunted, but a few larger fish are present. Of the 25 crappie collected in the 2016 spring survey, 10 were over ten inches. Both black and white crappie are present in the lake. Anglers are encouraged to harvest all crappie caught regardless of size to help thin out the population and increase the average size.

LARGEMOUTH BASS

Poor

The largemouth bass population in this lake is poor. During the 2016 spring electrofishing sample, 21% were over 15 inches, 14% were over 16 inches, and 14% were over 18 inches. Although anglers will typically not catch large numbers of bass in this lake, there are a few bigger bass present. Fishing Regulation: 3 fish daily limit, 15" minimum length limit.

REDEAR SUNFISH

Good

The redear population is good, though none were collected in the last three surveys.

Location: Carbondale City Reservoir is located in Jackson County on the south side of Carbondale at Evergreen Park.

Description: Facilities at this 135 acre lake include a boat launch and bathroom. This lake is adjacent to Evergreen Park which includes playground and picnic areas.

Additional Lake Information: No gas motors are allowed on Carbondale City Reservoir.
