Fish Status

During the most recent fish survey, of the bluegill collected, approximately 22% were larger than 6 inches and none were larger than 8 inches.

Very Good

During the most recent fish survey, catfish collected ranged in size from 9.5 inches to 23 inches and body condition was good. The catfish fishery is natural, but on occasion is supplemented with hatchery fish stocked from the Vermilion County Conservation District.

Very Good

During the most recent fish survey, the size structure of the bass population looks good with 68% being over 12 inches in length and 38% over 15 inches (based on bass collected that were 8 inches and larger). The largest bass collected during the latest survey was 4.93 pounds. Site Regulation: 15" length limit, 6 fish daily limit.

Density is excellent for white crappie. Based upon crappie 5 inches and longer, 74% were over 8 inches and 21% were longer than 10 inches. Size structure is excellent. The crappie regulation will protect the larger crappie and encourage anglers to keep some of the smaller crappie. Site Regulation: 10 fish daily limit for fish less than 10 inches; 10 fish daily limit for fish greater than or equal to 10 inches.
