FISHING CONDITIONS

COHO SALMON

Coho have been caught between 10-80 feet of water off North Point Marina. The best action has been surface rods with Luhr-Jensen little red dodgers with peanut flies off yellow birds. RV moonshine Wonder bread and RV flounder powder are also working to catch Coho.

4-24-17

CHINOOK SALMON

Along with the Coho action, some early kings are showing up as well. The RV moonshine Wonder bread and RV flounder powder have been working to catch the kings. Trolling speed has been on the slower end between 1.9 kts., and 2.1 kts. seems to be working the best.

4-24-17

LAKE TROUT

If you are looking to fill the smoker, good numbers of lake trout have been found between 180 ft. and 240 ft. 11-inch flashers with Spin-N-Glos and a white tail have been the ticket for them.

4-20-17

COHO SALMON

Steady numbers of Coho salmon have started to show up between 10 and 60 feet of water from North Point Marina - South. Good numbers the last few days have been caught from the Waukegan power plant south to Lake Forest. Little Red Dodgers and Peanut flies have been very productive. There have been scattered coho out in the 180 ft. and deeper water as well. With the weather getting warmer and warmer, the bigger force of the coho should be moving further north soon.

4-20-17

CHINOOK SALMON

An occasional king has been showing up with the coho. The RV Moonshine lures, including the RV Wonder Bread and regular Orange flounder have been good for catching the kings.

4-20-17

LAKE TROUT

Out in the deep water (180 ft. plus), there seems to be plenty of lake trout. The lake trout have been hitting 11-inch White Hotspot and Dreamweaver paddles and Moonshine Dodgers with Spin N Glos behind them with half-cut White Tails.
