WATER CONDITIONS:  Summer is almost halfway over. Don't miss your chance to go out for great Lake Michigan fishing!

The kings are here! Over the last week, numbers of kings have begun to show up in the waters surrounding North Point Marina. Anywhere between 5-15 king bites can be expected on an early morning fishing trip. Be careful...there are some BIG ones! Flasher flies and spoons, especially moonshines, have been the best to catch these brutes. The Dragon Slayer flasher with a Super Frog Howie fly, and the blue bubble spin doctor with a blue bubble Dreamweaver fly, have been the best on dipsys out 75 feet to 150 feet depending on the day. Moonshine spoons RV shelly shack, RV flounder pounder, and RV wonder bread have been great for the kings as well on riggers, leads, and especially a 200-foot copper. All these baits are available at Lake Michigan Angler in Winthrop Harbor.

Numbers of steelhead are still around as well in the same water, so don't forget to put some orange spoons on high leads for the steelhead.

Coho are also still around in the same waters. Put some dodger flies out for the Coho.
