St.Louis Corps District Water Levels

FISHING REPORT PROVIDED BY:  Reported by Lepracon Landing at Wolf Creek State Park and Chips Marine and outboard Motor Repair Center near Sullivan. Enjoy the beautiful cool morning temperatures and the blue sky from a boat.

WATER CONDITIONS:  Lake levels are .26 feet below normal summer pool and Good for fishing! Fishing is picking up and getting better! Walleye are biting on 3 inch curly tails, brush hogs, black & blue jigs, and Peanut Butter & Jelly colored jigs.

CRAPPIE

Fair to Good: Cooler temperatures are helping! Some limits are being taken from approximately 8 to 10 feet of water over brush with black & chartreuse, blue & chartreuse, and orange jigs tipped with a wax worm or minnow.

LARGEMOUTH BASS

Fair to Good: Check out the rip-rap. Fish biting up shallow in 2 to 3 feet of water up to 9-10 feet; also some still deep; hitting on Carolina Rigs, some jigs, crank baits, plastic worms, and crawdads. A recent tournament reported nice sized fish caught. Early morning and later evening hours still best.

CHANNEL CATFISH

Fair to Good: Catching one here and there; Anglers are using cheese bait, chicken livers, cut bluegill and skip jack.

WHITE BASS

Fair to Good: Finding fish in shallow levels on wind blown flats with twister tails, 2 jig rigs, blade baits, or spinner baits.
