Fishing Report for Mill Creek Lake

WATER CONDITIONS:  Water levels are a speck low. Early morning and later evening hours best for fishing success. Make plans to attend the Breakfast Surprise on 9/23/17 at 9:00 a.m. and the Hog roast on 9/30/17 beginning at 6:00 p.m.

CRAPPIE

Slower: Finding a few fish in deeper water near cover with minnows.

LARGEMOUTH BASS

Fair: Look for fish with a 8 oz. Shaky Head jig, finesse worm, or 8 oz. swim jigs in black & blue or P.B.&J. colors. Also might try 10 foot crank baits.

CHANNEL CATFISH

Barely Fair: Offer them Cheese bait and chicken liver along the shoreline edges near laydowns and in holes. Also using cut bluegill and skip jack. Early and late best.

BLUEGILL

Fair: Red wiggler worms and wax worms are popular; cast near structure, docks, and weed patches.

CRAPPIE

Fair: Finding some nice sized fish 5 to 10 feet deep water near cover with minnows. Also using blackchartreuse jigs, and orangelack & chartreuse jigs.

LARGEMOUTH BASS

Fair: The big one recently was 4.66 pounds and 25 inches long! Look for fish near laydowns with a white spinner/silver blade, silvery minnow colored, black & blue jig, crank bait, or green pumpkin or watermelon red crawdads.

Good: Bite is Coming Back! Cheese bait and chicken liver are being cast along the shoreline edges near laydowns and in holes. Also using cut bluegill and skip jack. Early and late best.
