Fishing Report for Clinton Lake

FISHING REPORT PROVIDED BY:  Reported by Old Joes Bait & Tackle on Rt 54 in DeWitt. " "An old tackle box can be a gold mine of long-forgotten treasures and a place to find old fishing memories." (Jim Porter saying)

WATER CONDITIONS:  The lake is up due to recent rainfall. The hot water area is OPEN. Some nice WALLEYE have been caught close to the DeWitt Bridge with jigs. STRIPPED BASS: GOOD: Catching some pretty good sized fish below the spillway with a jig and minnow.

CRAPPIE

GOOD: Minnows are the # 1 bait. On the warmer end, fish are in the shallows. On the cooler end they are deeper.

LARGEMOUTH BASS

Good: Lots! Anglers successful with spinner baits on the rip-rap. A good spot is near the Rt. 48 bridge in warm water.

CHANNEL CATFISH

GOOD: Success in the hot water area with anything meaty - shad, big minnows, or shrimp.
