FISHING AREA: Walnut Point Lake is a 59 acres lake in east-central Illinois. It is a stream fed lake with a maximum depth of 32 feet and an average depth of 12.5 feet with 6.3 miles of shoreline. The area offers, fishing, hunting, camping, hiking, picnicking and cross-country skiing. Electric trolling motors are allowed but not boat motors. The lake has many fingerlike coves which proved a beautiful setting for quality fishing and enjoyable scenery. Anglers can fish with pole and line in the lake or along the banks of the Embarras River. Floating docks, fixed piers and boat launches are provided. The lake is located in Coles County, north of Illinois 133, east of Arcola; or southeast of Tuscola, south of Illinois 36.
WATER CONDITIONS: Water clarity is clear with surface temperatures at 56 degrees.
