FISHING AREA: Paris East lake is 162.8 acres with a maximum depth of 26.5 feet and has 7.8 miles of shoreline. Boating, fishing, swimming, skiing, and picnicking are available. Paris West Lake is 56.7 acres with a maximum depth of 8.5 acres and has 3.5 miles of shoreline. Boating, fishing, and picnicking are offered.A 10 horsepower limit is placed on boat motors. The lakes are located northeast of Paris in Edgar County on Illinois Route 1.
WATER CONDITIONS: Water levels are good and with a little water running over the dam; autumn foliage has bright colors of red, orange, yellow, and gold. Leaves are falling along with the rain.
FISH: Crappie ... Fair to Good; Smaller sized fish are being taken from 4 to 6 feet of water near cover with a wax worm or minnow.
FISH: Largemouth Bass ... Fair; Fish have been caught with crankbaits or spinners on both sides of the lake along the shorelines; set out away and cast towards the shorelines.
FISH: Catfish ... Fair; The west side has been producing; look for them near the south bank and near the park with liver and night crawlers.
