FISHING AREA: Lake Paradise is a 176 acre lake with 4.1 miles of shoreline and a maximum depth of 23 feet that offers boat fishing and picnicking opportunities. Boat motors are limited to 10 horsepower. Lake Paradise is located southwest of Mattoon in Coles County; north of Lake Mattoon, west of I-57.
WATER CONDITIONS: Water is all the way up and full, temperature is in the higher 70's. Some fishing activity. The lake is no wake lake!
FISH: Crappie ... Slow; Anglers using jigs and minnows; fish are suspended in deeper water near cover.
FISH: Bluegill ... Pretty Good; Anglers catching fish off the banks with wax worms under a bobber. Fun for everyone to catch!
FISH: Catfish ... Good; Look for fish with a variety of baits near the rocks along the shorelines during earlier morning hours.
