FISHING AREA: Lake Mingo in Vermillion County has 170 acres with a maximum depth of 38 feet and 5.0 miles of shoreline. A 10 horsepower limit has been placed on boat motors. The lake offers fishing, swimming, skiing, and picnicking. They also have boats to rent.
WATER CONDITIONS: Lake levels are in good shape for fishing. Rivers o.k. too. Scattered rainfall received this past week and hot weather temperatures slowed fishing activities.
FISH: Walleye ... Fair; Fish have been caught in the Irquois River this past week.
FISH: Catfish ... Good; Anglers are catching smaller sized fish with stink bait and catalpa worms along the banks of the river.
NOTE: Bluegill are limited to five fish longer than 7 inches and an unlimited number shorter than 7 inches.
NOTE: There is a weekly Tuesday night bass tournament at the lake.
